Work Experience

Title: Front Desk/ Cashier

Place: Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery

Dates: April 2020- present

I am in charge of the front lobby of the store. I am required to know about various flavors and deals for our cupcakes, ice cream, and other pastries. I keep the front lobby clean, serve customers, manage the register, and occasionally help the bakers.


Title: Receptionist/Assistant

Place: Main Street Bridal – Belton, TX

Dates: September 2018 to May 2019

I run the front desk and greet guests. I answer questions, do inventory, schedule appointments, assist bridal consultants, make sales, etc.


Title: Assistant Editor/ Staff Writer

Place: UMHB’s school paper: The Bells – Belton, TX

Dates: August 2015 to May 2019

The Bells is a bi-weekly student-run paper produced by the school. I was a staff writer for the university’s newspaper for four years and Assistant Editor for three years. I was in charge of writing various types of articles, managing the newsroom, laying out and editing pages, and taking photographs. I also assisted the Editor-in-Chief and our supervisor.


Title: Tutor/Mentor

Place: Temple ISD – Temple, TX

Dates: September 2016 to February 2017

I worked as a tutor and mentor for middle school students. The staff would teach the curriculum of the day, help students with assignments or homework, and entertain the kids.


Titles: Online Writing Intern

Place: Borgen Project – Seattle, WA

Dates: February 2019 to April 2019

This was a 12-week internship where I was required to write articles for the organization’s blog to spread awareness about global poverty and different events currently happening in other countries. As well as writing articles, I was tasked with social media assignments and fundraising for the organization. One example article is here.


Title: Media Staff/Intern

Place: Lubbock Avalanche-Journal – Lubbock, TX

Dates: July 2019 to September 2019

I was an intern writer for the second half of the summer. I wrote multiple articles, briefs, and took pictures for the paper. Many of my stories went to print and were put online. Though I mostly covered small events, I also did two bigger writing projects with the paper. One such project is the article over the Texas Musical in Palo Duro Canyon, which you can read here.


Title: Broadcasting Intern

Place: KLBK TV – Lubbock, TX

Dates: September 2019 to December 2019

I was an intern at KLBK/KAMC TV in Lubbock. Both stations are in the same building, so I work with reporters and anchors from both stations. I assisted reporters with handling and setting up equipment, filming, and interviews in the field. I was also able to learn basic switch boarding and sound operating. I had the chance to be both on set during the show and in the field with the reporters.
